BTS Made A Debut in American TV Show ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’
On the 28th, BTS appeared on the popular NBC talk show in America ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’. That day, BTS performed ‘MIC Drop’ and had a short interview with Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen introduced BTS, “This is the first time the American TV show brings the most famous K-Pop Boyband in Korea” BTS performed ‘MIC Drop’ and made the audience enthusiastic.
“I know you’re the English speaker amongst the other members. English is great”, said Ellen to RM. “I studied while watching the American sitcom ‘Friends'” RM replied. RM added, “I watched ‘Friends’ series since I was 15 years old and finished all the seasons.”
BTS Suga got a question with Korean about BTS song whose lyrics get a lot of sympathy, “I’m so glad many people from all over the world are sympathetic to our songs even though their language and culture are different”, he said. BTS also got an interesting question from Ellen. “Have you ever dated one of the Army?” asked Ellen.
RM has made spectators in the studio enthusiastic about this question. “Yes right now”, he said. After that, Ellen asked through a Korean translator and BTS members looked hesitant for a moment. V then answered “NOT!” and corrected it “NO!” making the audience laugh.
Although only appearing in a short time, the debut of BTS on the American TV show took place successfully. Local fans are enthusiastic and can see how popular BTS is.
BTS will also be featured on NBC’s ‘The Late Show With James Corden’ program and ABC ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’. They will also do a mini-concert in ABC’s year-end special program Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin ‘Eve’ in 2018. Previously Psy has appeared in the event in 2012.
