The Opening of Ski Area in Gangwon in November Welcoming the Olympics

In November, the winter has come and the ski area in Gangwon province was opened.

In particular, the opening of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang is getting closer, the event is anticipated because people are expected to gather in Gangwon Province to enjoy winter sports, such as skiing and snowboarding.

According to related industries, the Yongpyeong ski area in Pyeongchang and the Phoenix Park ski area in Pyeongchang has opened 2 slopes on November 17th. The Welly Healy ski area in Hoengseong is expected to open on 23 November. The Welly Healy area is planned to strengthen extreme sports and facilities significantly this year.




Kangwon Land High 1 Ski Resort in Jeongseon has opened two slopes on November 18 and is scheduled to open officially on November 24th. High 1 ski area is expected to be visited by many olympics tourists at home and abroad because it is close to ‘Jeongseon Jungbong Run Ski Resort’ where the Olympics are held.

Vivaldi Park Daemyun ski area in Hongcheon-gun is scheduled to open on November 22, two days earlier than expected due to cold weather. The area for beginners is opened, and the next day three slopes, beginner, intermediate and advanced area are opened for skiers and snowboarders.

Elysian Gangchon Ski Resort located in Chuncheon City will open three slopes and one slope will open on November 24th. Visitors can go to darSeoul i ski resort about 1 hour by train and Seoul Yangyang Expressway.

Hansol Oak Valley Ski Resort in Wonju will open on November 29 at night. This temple can be reached within 50 minutes from Seoul. In December, KTX Wonju-Gangneung, arriving from Cheongryangri to Wonju within 30 minutes, is considered a special ski resort for the Olympics.

Alpensia Ski Resort, the main stadium of the 2018 Winter Olympics Pyeongchang will not be used for public this winter as it will be prepared for the Olympics.
