Four Historical Movies to Be Released This Year
In this new year, various historical movies also continue to appear. These movies are ‘Warriors of the Dawn’, ‘Battleship Island’, ‘A Taxi Driver’, and ‘1987’.
The very first film is ‘Warriors of the Dawn’ which will be released on May 31st. The film dates back to 1592, telling the story Prince Gwang Hae (Yeo Jin Goo) who replaces the position of his runaway father who left the Joseon people and fought against the Japanese attack.
‘Battleship Island’, scheduled to release in July, sets in Japanese colonization in Korea and tells the story of Korean laborers who risked their lives trying to escape from Hashima Island, Japan. The public cannot wait to see this tragic historical story.
The film is directed by ‘Veteran’ Ryoo Seung Wan and starring top Korean actors, Hwang Jung Min, So Ji Sub, Song Joong Ki, Lee Jung Hyun, and more.
‘A Taxi Driver’ sets in the background of Gwangju democracy movement era on May 18, 1980. The movie is scheduled to release this fall.
The last one is the 1987 film which tells the first Korean democratic struggle. Showing the truth behind the death of Park Jong Chul who fought to defend democracy in 1987. Reportedly this film will show the truth of the hidden historical story.
The movie itself stars Kim Yun Seok, Ha Jung Woo, Yoo Hae Jin, Kim Tae Ri, Kang Dong Won, and more.
