BTS Won Top Social Artist Category! The First K-POP Group/Artist to Win Billboard Music Award
BTS has officially incised a new history for K-POP industry in Billboard Music Award.
On May 22nd, BTS won the ‘Top Social Artist’ category at Billboard Music Award at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, USA. BTS managed to beat other names in that category, namely Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and other famous world artists. In their acceptance speech, Rap Monster conveyed, “We thank ARMY around the world,”
This means BTS has become the first K-POP idol group to win on ‘Billboard Music Award’. They managed to break Justin Bieber’s 6 years winning streak in this category. BTS’ fandom, ARMY, has proved that their strength is now bigger than Bieber’s Beliebers fandom.
The ‘Top Social Artist’ category winner is decided based on the number of album and digital sales, streaming, number of radio shows, number of shows, and social media engagement between March 18, 2016 and March 16, 2017.
