Crew of ‘Ruler’ Praise Yoo Seung Ho’s Effort for the Sword-Fighting Scene
In MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama, ‘Ruler – Master of the Mask’, Yoo Seung Ho plays a crown prince who fights against a dark organization called Pyeon Soo Hee to rescue the distressed Joseon residents. Yoo Seung Ho, who managed to live again after being buried in the ground, has now become the head of an organization, preparing to gather power to confront Pyeon Soo Hoe.
In episode 11, Yoo Seung Ho’s scenes focus on his sword action. Prince Seon, who takes a long sword at a headquarters is seen practicing using a sword with Chung Woon, his bodyguard. The crown prince moves as fast as lightning, swings his sword and attacks Chung Woon over and over again, but Chung Woon can reciprocate his actions well.
While filming, Yoo Seung Ho practiced using sword with high focus over and over again. After completing the action scene with Shin Hyun Soo (Chung Woon), Yoo Seung Ho continues to perform a dynamic “Sword Dancing”, which became a special entertainment for the production crew.
Jung Doo Hong, Ruler’s director of martial arts, also praised Yoo Seung Ho’s acting. “I spent a lot of time practicing alone on the day of filming, so I could not practice with them, but Yoo Seung Ho and the other casts can follow me well. Yoo Seung Ho has good strength, his movements are also very good. It is very clear that he is experienced and natural at using the sword, since he has done similar action scenes in previous historical dramas,”
A crew member also said, “Yoo Seung Ho impresses the staff not only with his ability to ride horses but also his skill in various action scenes. I hope Yoo Seung Ho, who has performed a good ‘new action’, will keep showing us ‘new surprises’ in the future. ”
Episodes 13 and 14 ‘Ruler’ will be aired on May 31st at 10pm.
