Korean Movies Starring Jun Ji Hyun

Jun Ji Hyun was born on October 30, 1981. She dreamed of becoming a stewardess when she was little and then she gave up. Jun Ji Hyun started her career as a model in 1997. She began her career as a widescreen actress through the movie ‘White Valentine’ in 1999. However, she became known through her popular movie ‘My Sasssy Girl’. This film managed to make her one of the top Hallyu stars. Then she routinely plays a role in several movies. The following are films starring Jun Ji Hyun.

  1. Assassination

    The film directed by Choi Dong Hoon was released on July 22th, 2015. In this film Jun Ji Hyun played the role of Ahn Ok Yoon, and her co-stars are Lee Jung Jae who played Yeom Suk Jin and Ha Jung Woo as Hawaii Pistol. This film has a background in the 1930s when Korea was still in the colonial period by Japan. Yeom Suk Jin is the agent of the interim administration. He planned the murder to bring out a pro-group against Japan. He then gives an order to Ahn Ok Yoon who is a sniper. Ok Yoon accepts the mission because she has a strong desire to make Korea independent. Meanwhile, Hawaii Pistol is a hit man. He and his colleague are assigned to kill Ok Yoon and her assassination team.

    ‘The Berlin Files’ is a film released on January 29th, 2013 and starred Jun Ji Hyun, Ha Jung Woo, Han Suk Kyu, and Ryu Seung Bum. This film tells the story of a South Korean agent named Jung Jin Soo (Han Suk Kyu) who goes to the Grand Hotel Berlin with his team. They are stalking illegal arms deals involving a buyer from the Middle East, a broker from Russia, and a North Korean agent named Pyo Jung Sung (Ha Jung Woo). Pyo Jung Sung is someone who is considered a hero by the North Korean government, and he got the information that Dong Myung Soo (Ryu Seung Bum) is on his way to Berlin. Dong Myung Soo is the son of a North Korean leader and a dangerous killer, which means his appearance in Berlin is not for something good. In this film Jun Ji Hyun played role as Ryun Jung Hee, who is the wife of Pyo Jung Sung. Dong Myung Soo comes to Berlin to investigate the couple because he suspects that Ryu Jung Hee is a traitor. Meanwhile, South Korean agent Jung Jin Soo finally decided to help Pyo Jung Sung to save Ryun Jung Hee.

  3. The Thieves

    The Thieves’ released on July 25th, 2012, starring top actors and actresses such as Jun Ji Hyun, Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Yun Suk, Kim Hye Soo, Lee Jung Jae and Kim Hae Sook. The film tells about Popie (Lee Jung Jae), Yenicall (Jun Ji Hyun), Chewingum (Kim Hae Sook), and Zampano (Kim Soo Hyun) who are in a professional thief team in Korea. They are offered a very profitable new job in Macau from Macao Park (Kim Yun Suk). Meanwhile, Pepsee (Kim Hye Soo) is released from prison. A few years ago, Macao Park, Pepsee and Popie worked together as a team. Macao Park and Pepsee were once partners. While stealing the gold bars, Macao Park disappeared with the gold bars while Pepsee was caught. Now Popie, Yenicall, Chewingum, and Zampano went to Hong Kong to work with Macao Park, but he did not know that Pepsee was also with them. In Hong Kong, Korean thieves meet Hong Kong thieves. Both teams work together to steal, but they all have their own plans.

  4. Windstruck

    ‘Windstruck’ is a film released on June 4th, 2004. The movie starred Jun Ji Hyun and Jang Hyuk. The film tells about Yeo Kyung Jin (Jun Ji Hyun), a policewoman and Go Myung Woo (Jang Hyuk), who is a teacher. The two first meet when Yeo Kyung Jin misjudged Go Myung Woo whom she thought was a pickpocket. They meet again when Myung Woo volunteers in performing patrol accompanied by Kyung Jin. In the patrol they find a drug dealer, Myung Woo tries to escape for fear, but Kyung Jin cuffs his hands so that Myung Woo cannot escape. After the commotion, Kyung Jin realizes that the key is missing so they have to stay together all night. Then soon, love starts to grow between the two.
