tvN Friday-Saturday drama ‘Goblin’ ended the series by setting a new record for a tv cable drama. The latest episode of ‘Goblin’, according to Nielsen Korea, scored 20,5% viewers rating.
In the last episode of ‘Goblin’, Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) and Ji Eun Tak (Kim Go Eun) finally met each other again. Wang Yeo (Lee Dong Wook) and Sunny (Yoo In Na) were also given their happy ending through their love story in the next life. Though so, netizens dubbed the ending as ‘Sad + Happy’ ending. Fans are also craving for more ‘Goblin’ as the latest episode left numerous unanswered questions. They are hoping for a season 2 that could explain all of their questions, for example:
What Happens to Yoo Deok Hwa?
The latest episode of ‘Goblin’ showed fans what happened after 30 years. Thirty years have passed since the death of Ji Eun Tak. Wang Yeo and Kim Sun have also said their goodbyes to Kim Shin. Time passed, and then Ji Eun Tak, Wang Yeo, and Kim Sun’s reincarnations appeared. However, what becomes of Yoo Deok Hwa was not shown in the episode. After 30 years, even the aging Secretary Kim appeared. He has become a company chairman. It was only the whereabouts of Yoo Deok Hwa, who was supposed to be the heir of the company, that was not explained. When Kim Shin met Yoo Deok Hwa for the first time, Kim Shin said, “I will be your uncle, your brother, your son, and your grandson.” It was unfortunate that fans could not see Yoo Deok Hwa’s transformation.
Did Wang Yeo and Sunny Drink the Tea of Oblivion?
As Grim Reaper, Wang Yeo always give the dead people a glass of tea to erase their memory. Ji Eun Tak was also offered the tea, but refused to drink it because she did not want to forget her memory of Kim Shin. When Kim Sun died, though, she only left the world while holding hands with Wang Yeo. It was not shown whether she drinks the tea or not. Kim Sun was then reincarnated as an actress and Wang Yeo as a detective. Both of them fell in love with each other again, but their past was never mentioned anymore. Netizens are still curious to whether Kim Sun and Wang Yeo remembered their past life, especially because this time their love story went very differently, and without any obstacles.
