Song Joong Ki becomes ‘King of Commercials’ Thanks to ‘Descendants of The Sun’

Song Joong Ki earned the nickname ‘King of Commercials’ after starring in ‘Descendants of The Sun’.

The latest episode of MBC’s ‘Section TV’ mentioned that ‘Descendants of the Sun’ truly brought a lot of luck to the already successful casts, especially for the main actor, Song Joong Ki. The show also briefly talked about how Song Joong Ki landed the role of Yoo Si Jin in ‘Descendants of the Sun’.

The role was actually declined by Hyun Bin, Kim Woo Bin, Jo In Sung, and Gong Yoo before it was eventually accepted by Song Joong Ki. After ‘Descendants of the Sun’ became a huge hit, all of the items that Song Joong Ki promoted had soaring increase of sales. Song Joong Ki starred in 15 domestic commercials and 5 to 6 Chinese commercials. Thus, ‘Section TV’ crowned him as King of Commercials.
