Kim Se Jeong, The Girl who Landed Her First Lead Role Even Before a Year of Debut
From being a ‘Produce 101’ winners along with IOI, debuting as a member of girl group Gugudan, appearing in K-Pop Star and landing a lead role in a mini-series, everything were done in less than a year by Kim Se Jeong.
Despite the fact that this is only her first stepping stone to the world of acting, Kim Se Jeong has already been offered a lead role in the ‘School’ series. After young yet experienced actress Kim Yoo Jung, who was initially offered the role, declined it, the ‘School 2017’ production team decided to give the role to Kim Se Jeong.
After creating quite a fuss, the ‘School 2017’ team explained their reasons to choose Kim Se Jeong as the drama’s lead role. “We hope this drama could radiate cheerfulness to all of its viewers, and we believe Kim Se Jeong, with all the potential that she has in her, could do that.” The team believes that the role of Ra Eun Ho is very suitable with Kim Se Jeong’s original personality.
However, many people still have their doubt regarding this decision as Kim Se Jeong has never tried acting before, aside from being a cameo. Will she succeed in leading ‘School 2017’? Some others believe that Kim Se Jeong will, remembering her multipotential that she has been showcasing since her ‘Produce 101’ days.
‘School 2017’ is the upcoming installment of ‘School’ series, which has birthed several names of top Korean actresses and actors, for example, Ha Ji Won, Jo In Sung, Gong Yoo, Im Soo Jung, Lee Yuri, Kim Woo Bin, and Lee Jong Suk.
‘School 2017’ is set to air in July following ‘Fight for My Way’.
