Joo Seung Wo, an Actor with a Thousand Faces

The new weekend drama tvN ‘Secret Forest’ premiered on June 10th. After ‘Goblin’, the drama has finally succeeded in breaking tvN’s low rating reputation. The biggest reason the audience love is because of Jo Seung Woo’s acting skill. In ‘Secret Forest’, the actor plays a character named Hwang Si Mok.

Since Jo Seung Woo opened the first episode, this drama has been nothing but amazing. Starting from the discovery of a deceased man’s body, Jo Seung Woo is able to complete the disclosure of this case one by one and lead the drama on his own.

As a person who loses his emotions due to a brain surgery, Hwang Si Mok might look unattractive and boring. However, Jo Seung Woo could maintain his tone of voice and expression steadily, making his character’s personality seem to have a charisma and emits new charm that we have never seen in any other dramas.

In Jo Seung Woo’s previous works, ‘The Insiders’ and SBS drama ‘God’s Gift – 14 Days’, he appeared very different from Hwang Si Mok, as he played characters with warm personality. In ‘The Insiders’, just like Hwang Si Mok in ‘Secret Forest’, Joo Seung Woo’s character is a prosecutor. However, unlike Joo Seung Woo’s ‘The Insiders’ character, Hwang Si Mok uses people around him or use violence to achieve his goal.

In another film, ‘Classic’, Joo Seung Woo made so many people cry with his acting as an autistic 20 years old guy. He also received many praises for his acting in ‘Marathon’.
