What is the Reason for Park Bo Gum’s Long Break?
Last year, Park Bo Gum created a syndrome through his drama ‘Moonlight Drawn by Clouds’. However, until now, more than 1 year later, he has yet to choose his next work.
Park Bo Gum’s manager said, “He has not been able to determine his next work. To be honest, Park Bo Gum really wants to do a project this year, but there has been any work that could stir his heart.”
The manager also added, “It is true that many works have been offered to him, be it dramas or films. But it seems that they are offered to him simply because there are not many actors in their early 20s at the moment.”
Thus, so far, there has been no work that appeals Park Bo Gum’s heart.
Bo Gum was casted as the Prince in ‘Moonlight Drawn by Clouds’, which was aired from August to October last year. His acting was warmly responded by support from people of all age groups, ranging from teenagers to elder people.
The drama even surpassed the viewership rating of 20% in episode 7, ending with 22.9% in the final episode, with the highest audience rating of 23.3%. Usually, it is very hard for a mini series to even pass 15%, therefore, with the drama’s achievement, Bo Gum got the title ‘Daebak’ and ‘Extraordinary Actor’. In addition, in the second half of last year, many Korean dramas failed to be exported to China due to Hallyu ban in the country, but ‘Moonlight Drawn by Clouds’ was successfully exported.
Park Bo Gum, who is currently listed as a student of Myeongji University’s Music Department, has been devoting his life to school and shooting advertisements. He is still waiting for “a role that suits his age.”
