First Episode of ‘Defendant’ Got 14,5% Rating
According to Nielsen Korea survey centre, the first episode of SBS’ newest drama, ‘Defendant’, which was aired on January 23rd, achieved 14,5% viewers rating (nationwide) and ranked in the first place. This means the episode got 5% higher rating than ‘Romantic Doctor’, which previously ranked first. At the same time, drama ‘Hwarang’ ranked in the second place with 11% rating, followed by MBC’s ‘Night Light’ with 4,1%.
The first episode of ‘Defendant’ illustrates the rivalry between a prosecutor, Park Jung Woo (played by Ji Sung), and the vice president of Chamyung Group, Cha Min Ho (Uhm Ki Joon).
Park Jung Woo, who is accused of murdering his own wife and daughter, is thrown into prison. Meanwhile, the episode also shows Cha Min Ho starting to pretend to be Cha Sun Ho, his own identical brother that Min Ho previously killed.
The actors’ acting successfully made viewers moved and even cried since the first episode. Will ‘Defendant’ continue to rank first in Monday-Tuesday drama slot?
