“They allow me to have 100% control of this movie, so it’s nice, because I could do anything I want without having any doubt. And I’m also happy because this movie could be enjoyed in USA, England, as well as Korea. In addition, this would be the first streaming film to be invited in Cannes Film Festival.”

Asking about how he could cast an international star Tilda Swinton in this movie, Bong Joon Ho answered, “Four years ago, when we’re promoting ‘Snowpiercer’ in Korea, she came and I showed my rough sketches of ‘Okja’. I said to her, “I think I’m going to do this next,” and she told me, “That would be very interesting”. She showed a great interest toward this movie, so we chose her as one of the casts.”
