‘Circle’ Presents an Intriguing Mystery For Korean Drama Lovers
tvN’s ‘Circle’ is a science-fiction drama with 2017 and 2037 Korea as its background, telling the story of a mysterious murder case in 2017 ‘Part 1: Beta Project’, and emotion-controlled future society in 2037 ‘Part 2: A Wonderful New World’.
‘Circle’ is tvN’s first sci-fi genre, which also presented a new format called ‘double track’ to improve audience’s interest toward the story.
‘Double track’ format means that there are two separate stories in this drama, and though there might be a connection between the present and the future, each story isn’t directly linked to one another as it usually happens in a time-slip story. No character in this drama goes to the future or the past.
In 2017, Yeo Jin Goo and An Woo Yeon had a mysterious incidents involving aliens, which were then revealed to be figures of women. Meanwhile, in 2037, other characters are doing an investigation in the alien case.
