Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook’s Popularity, The Last Episode of ‘Goblin’ in Japan and the Demand for A Re-Airing

Last winter, one of the Korean TV shows that attracted the attention, ‘Goblin’, was well received by the Japanese audience. The audience seems to be having the ‘Goblin’ fever. ‘Goblin’ is aired in Japan through CJ E&M Mnet Channel. On May 19th, the sixteenth episodes have all been aired and the audience’s reaction is still overwhelming.

‘Goblin’ tells the story of Kim Shin who needs a bride to end his eternal life, and a grim reaper who loses his memory weirdly lives with him, between the two appeared Ji Eun Tak who is called the Goblin bride.

Gong Yoo plays as Kim Shin and spreads the syndrome to various countries then Kim Go Eun plays the role of Ji Eun Tak who shows a fun charm. While Lee Dong Wook plays as the grim reaper. Also appears Yook Sung Jae, Yoo In Na, Jo Woo Jin, and Kim Byung Chul who are loved by the viewers.

Like the viewers in Korea, many Japanese fans love their OSTs too. Chanyeol ft Punch ‘Stay With Me’, Ailee ‘I Will Come to You Like a First Snow’, and Crush ‘Beautiful’ get a warm response from Japanese fans.

CJ E&M’s representative revealed, “On May 19, after the last episode of ‘Goblin’ the re-airing request never stops. The articles related to ‘Goblin’ also flooded. Many local Japanese audiences support ‘Goblin.’

Not only in Japan but ‘Goblin’ is also exported to Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Taiwan and Asia, America and Europe which also get popular. In Korea last year starting from December 2, it got a 20% rating and becomes one of the most popular dramas.
