Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Kang Hee’s Reunion in ‘Queen of Mystery’
On May 25, KBS 2TV ‘Queen of Mystery’ aired episode 16 as the last episode. When the news of Queen of Mystery’s casts was announced, Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Kang Hee who united as the main character has increased audience expectations. Because the two not only returned to the screen after a long time, but also because of their past work relationship 16 years ago.
Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Kang Hee in 2001 played together in SBS ‘Shinhwa’. Kwon Sang Woo who was still a new actor and the already popular Choi Kang Hee met in the ‘Queen of Mystery’ after 16 years. Both are present not to establish a romance but as a partner.
Through the drama, the two are always bickering just like tom and jerry, but in some cases they work together as partners like Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.
Choi Kang Hee plays as Yoo Seol Ok Ahjumma a housewife who aspires to be a cop and Kwon Sang Woo plays the role of detective ‘drug dog’ Ha Wan Seung. In each episode, the two mixed the alibi and their investigation to catch the criminals, and increased the excitement, tension and enthusiasm of the viewers.
There is no romance between the two, only a loyalty as a partner but it keeps the story interesting. Because in a work that needs a strong commitment, a romance even though cannot be missed, it might give a boring impression.
In this case, Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Kang Hee in each episode are showing what’s like to be a partner, not a lover.
The end of ‘Queen of Mystery’ seems to imply the possibility of 2nd season. The viewers responded that only Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Kang Hee could lead the 2nd season. That’s because both of them are able to express their own character tremendously.
