Will Lee Dong Gun Succeed with His First Historical Drama, ‘Seven Days Queen’?
Actor Lee Dong Gun will perform in his first historical drama, ‘Seven Days Queen’, which will premiere tonight (May 31).
KBS has always been succesful with its historical dramas, for example ‘Sungkyungkwan Scandal’, and ‘Moonlight Drawn by Clouds’. MBC’s ‘Moon Embracing the Sun’, ‘Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People’, and SBS’ ‘Six Flying Dragons’ succeeded in such a short time, proving that historical dramas are always favored by Korean public. Therefore, many people look forward to ‘Seven Days Queen’.
Among various factors, a drama’s lineup always attracts the attention of audience. Especially since this will be Lee Dong Gun’s first time to star in a historical drama after 19 years career as an actor. Lee Dong Gun, with his image as a cool urban man, will appear in ‘Seven Days Queen’ as an unusual ruler. His character, Yeon San Goon, makes the audience curious about what kind of performance that the actor will show.
Regarding the character played by Lee Dong Gun, the Seven Days Queen crew said, “He is a miserable king who, though born as the ruler who can put everyone under his feet, can never have the heart of a woman he loves.”
