‘Battleship Island’ Is Met by Warm Responses by More Than 113 Countries

‘Battleship Island’ director, Ryoo Seung Wan, declared that the film is gaining attention, not only in Korea, but also outside Korea.

In February, ‘Battleship Island’ was promoted at the European Film Market and has received warm welcome from 133 countries around the world, including France, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Japan, Hongkong, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and many others.

The film ‘Battleship Island’ is set in the Japanese colonial era, telling the story of a Japanese warship (Hasima, a ship shaped like a warship) that the Joseon people rode to escape.

A representative of Clover Films, a Singapore-based buyer of Battleship Island, said the film “Battleship Island” has the power of story and high hopes directed at director Ryu Seung Wan. Not only that, the film is also starred by Asia’s top hallyu star who is famous for his drama ‘Descendants of The Sun’ Song Joong Ki, as well as Hwang Jung Min and So Ji Sub, the representation of Korean actors who have a lot of charm. “Please look forward for ‘Battleship Island’, which will be the best Korean movie in the entertainment industry,” he said.

With ‘Battleship Island’, director Ryu is making people curious about the hidden motives behind the Japanese colonial period. ‘Battleship Island’ will be released in July 2017.
