Lee Jung Hyun Did a Drastic Weight Loss for Her Role in ‘Battleship Island’
Still cuts from the movie ‘Battleship Island’ which were released on June 13 featured Lee Jung Hyun’s character. It was reported that for the sake of this film, Lee Jung Hyun lost her weight up until it reached only 36.5 kgs.
The martial arts director of the movie conveyed, “She lost so much weight to portray the character realistically. In addition, there are action scenes that required her to use a 5kg shotgun. She showed her seriousness as an actress,”
In addition, Lee Jung Hyun also collected various information about the history to perfect her character in detail.
Her character is a woman who’s fighting to escape the Hashima Island despite always being underestimated. Many people who’ve seen the movie from its first screening praised Lee Jung Hyun’s portrayal of her character.
‘Battleship Island’ is the latest work of director Ryoo Seung Wan, who previously directed ‘Veteran’. The movie will be released in July.
