The Filming Location of ‘Battleship Island’ Attracts Attention

The amazing filming location of the film ‘Battleship Island’ which took the theme of Japanese colonization in 1945 attracts the public’s attention.

‘Battleship Island’ with the theme of the Japanese Colonial Period, describes Joseon people who tried to escape from the Japanese War Ship (Gunham Island) after being forced to work there. Trying to display the 2/3 sets of the original ship further adds to the high expectations of the audience.

The filming location is shaped perfectly from outside to inside. Director Ryoo Seung Wan who had visited the ship’s real location tried to convey the same feeling to the audience through the set.

The set was built on a 6,600-square-meter land in Gangwon Province, designed for three months and construction takes up to 6 months.

The still cut photos of the released locations show the hell ladder, the residence, the low paved area, the southern part of the warship, the coal mine, the interior and the exterior of the warship show an extraordinary atmosphere.

‘Battleship Island’ is the latest work of Directed Ryoo Seung Wan that picks up the story hidden behind the history of the Joseon people in the Japanese occupation period and is starring famous actors, making it one of the most anticipated movies of 2017. Scheduled for release in July.
