‘Battleship Island’ Releases Hwang Jung Min, So Ji Sub, and Song Joong Ki’s Character Posters

‘Battleship Island’, an upcoming work by director Ryoo Seung Wan recently released a poster featuring five main characters of the movie: Five Joseon people who entered the Japanese warships.

The release of the character posters has succesfully increased audience’s curiousity about this movie.

First of all, there is ‘Lee Kang Ok’, who came to the warship along with his daughter after hearing a promise of a better life from the Japanese government. This character is played by Hwang Jung Min. In the poster, he displays his struggle as a Joseon man who was expelled from his own country.

So Ji Sub, whose role is the best boxer named ‘Choi Chil Sung’ features a tense aura with his keen eyes. In addition, there is a line that said “You know who I am and still trying to fight me?” in his poster. Choi Chil Sung has an impatient character and takes precedence over fighting. So Ji Sub’s masculine charm reinforces this character in ‘Battleship Island’.

On another posterm there is ‘Park Moo Young’, a freedom fighter holding a gun, who is played by Song Joong Ki. The phrase “If anything goes wrong, you’ll die in my hand” in the his poster has increased public’s curiosity about the situation on the warship.

Lee Jung Hyun’s poster, who plays ‘Mal Nyeon’, also attracted attention. The line “We have we done wrong?” implies Mal Nyeon as a representative of a strong Joseon woman who is not afraid to voice her opinion regarding the situation in the warship.

‘Battleship Island’ is the latest work of director Ryoo Seung Wan, who picked up the story hidden behind the history of the Joseon people’s lives during the Japanese Colonial Period. Starring famous actors, the movie has become one of the most anticipated movies of 2017. This movie is scheduled for July release.
