Can ‘While You Were Sleeping’ Overcome SBS’ Pre-Produced Drama Curse?
SBS pre-produced drama ‘While You Were Sleeping’ is starring Lee Jong Suk and Suzy. The filming will finish in the middle of this month, and this Wednesday-Thursday drama will begin broadcasting in September.
Great expectations have been given by the public for ‘While You Were Sleeping’. The drama tells the story of a woman (Suzy) who can see the future through her dreams and a prosecutor (Lee Jong Suk) who tries to stop the dreams from coming true.
This drama is Lee Jong Suk’s third time working with writer Park Hye Ryun. The dramas include ‘I Can Hear Your Voice’, ‘Pinocchio’ and ‘While You Were Sleeping’.
Suzy showed her passion in acting by cutting her hair short for the first time since her debut seven years ago. In the drama ‘While You Were Sleeping’ many heard the voice of concern for her performance, but Suzy devotes her acting in production.
In press conference, Lee Jong Suk EP said “Lee Jong Suk and Suzy did well. The preview video that I’ve seen is like a dream. The story of this drama is new and fresh, so it will become a great thing,” He said.
This is quite a burden for ‘While You Were Sleeping’ as they come with high expectations. So far, SB’S pre-produced dramas has always received less viewer ratigs than expected even with some fantastic pairings as the main characters, for example, Lee Joon Gi and IU (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo), Lee Young Ae and Song Seung Heon (Saimdang, Light’s Diary), and currently, Joo Won and Oh Yeon Seo (My Sassy Girl). Can Lee Jong Suk and Suzy break SBS’ pre-produced drama curse?
