Lee Dong Gun Successfully Transformed Himself from a Paris Man to a Sexy King

At the moment, Lee Dong Gun plays King Lee Yoong in KBS 2TV’s Wednesday-Thursday drama, ‘Seven Days Queen’. Since the first episode, he has won praise for his excellent ‘mad eyes’ acting. Some even dubbed him as the sexiest king of all Korean movies and dramas.

All this time, every king character is depicted to have power and full of masculinity, however, the King who is played by Lee Dong Gun has a weak character. His outward appearance fuses his tyrant behavior and obsession of retaining his throne.

Other than being a man in pursuit of power, King Lee Yoong is also a King who’s weak for love. The two contrasting characters that Lee Dong Gun showcases as the King is the main point of this drama. He can be ruthless and unforgiving as someone who is a little bit obsessed of his power, but he also has a soft side, especially toward the woman he loves, Shin Chae Kyung (Park Min Young).

Another ‘live character’ that Lee Dong Gun has ever shown is Yo Soo Hyeok in SBS ‘Lovers in Paris’. This drama created a legendary syndrome after Lee Dong Gun displayed his sincere love for Kim Jung Eun with a very memorable dialogue, “Inside of me, there is you.”

It has been 13 years since ‘Lovers in Paris’ was aired now. Lee Dong Gun successfully plays an antagonist role for the first time in his career. His handsome face brings a new attraction of sexiness to his new character, the ruthless Yeonsangun.

Not long ago, Lee Dong Gun expressed, “Of course I’m happy to receive so many compliments. I’ve never acted with a mad eye-stare in my previous roles. Sometimes, several expressions similar to this character unconsciously appear even when I’m not shooting. The director gives me a very fitting direction for this character. That’s why I enjoy it so much. Acting with a role like this has been my desire for a long time,”
