Will Lee Jong Suk Actually Enter the Military on August 10?
Lee Jong Suk, who was born in 1989, has been preparing for military service after his registration test to be an alternative social worker have been confirmed. However, it was reported that he suddenly received an “Entry Notice” to start his service on August 10, even though he had planned to participate in several other movies and dramas. There are only ten days left before he had to enter the training camp.
His agency, YG Entertainment, explained, “Lee Jong Suk was notified (as ‘registered’ for service), but the date of the entry is still unconfirmed.” Taking account of the situation, as the notice was very sudden, Lee Jong Suk’s entry time may be postponed, but it is still unknown if a military postponement is still possible right now.
Lee Jong Suk had just completed the filming of SBS’s pre-produced drama, ‘While You Were Sleeping’, and is currently preparing for the release of his movie, ‘V.I.P’, on August 24th. Lee Jong Suk, who usually appears in romance genre in dramas and teenage life genre in movies, will portray an evil villain character for the first time in ‘V.I.P’. His character is a person who does not feel guilty even after committing a huge crime. Compared to what we have seen in the past, this is a bold challenge for Lee Jong Suk.
Lee Jong Suk has promised to work with director Park Hoon Jung, the director of ‘V.I.P’, in a movie called ‘The Wicked’ (tentative title). However, as he suddenly received a notification for military service, he had to cancel his promise and made several changes to his schedule.
Lee Jong Suk is scheduled to appear in ‘V.I.P’ first screening in CGV Apgujeong, Seoul, today at 11AM along with other casts, Jang Dong Gun, Kim Myung Min, dan Park Hee Soon. It seems like the actor will confirm his military entry date during the screening.
