tvN’s Full Week Drama Line-Up
tvN dramas have succeeded successively in Saturday-Sunday and Monday-Tuesday slot, earning the ‘trust and watch’ title. In a drama market led by three terrestrial channels, tvN has a strong influence and does not put aside challenges and investments in different forms and materials. In the first half of 2017, tvN, which reputation has been a bit sluggish since ‘Goblin’, has revived the Wednesday-Thursday drama after five years.
The recent Monday-Tuesday drama challenges the SF genre, ‘Circle’, followed by a drama introducing a fantasy romantic comedy, ‘Bride of the Water God 2017’. ‘Bride of the Water God 2017’ is a fantasy drama about a god who comes down to earth, Ha Baek (Nam Joo Hyuk) and a female doctor, So A (Shin Se Kyung).
tvN, which succeeded as a new broadcasting block, chose to turn into a Friday-Saturday drama through ‘Secret Forest’. Secret Forest presents a synergy between Jo Seung Woo and Bae Doo Na, and is well rewarded for continuing on Yoo Jae Myung, Lee Joon Hyuk and Shin Hye Soon’s performances. Following the drama, Kim Ah Joong and Kim Nam Gil will meet in ‘Live Up to Your Name, Dr. Heo’.
Lastly, On July 26th, tvN launched a new Wednesday-Tuesday drama, ‘Criminal Minds’, a remake of a USA TV series, with Son Hyun Joo, Lee Joon Ki, and Moon Chae Won as its main characters.
