Seohyun, Tiffany and Sooyoung Have Left SM Entertainment, What Activities Will SNSD Members Do Next?

SNSD members Seohyun, Tiffany, and Sooyoung have left SM Entertainment. Meanwhile, Taeyeon, Yoona, Yuri, Sunny, and Hyoyeon extended their contract with the agency.

Seohyun and Sooyoung are expected to enter the full-time work as an actress. Seohyun has played important role in MBC ‘Bad Thief, Good Thief’ and Sooyoung played a leading character in ‘Man Who Sets the Table’. Seohyun has been active in various acting and musical activities.

In addition, Tiffany seems to be preparing to study abroad. Tiffany who lived in the United States before her debut is likely to prepare for her second life in the United States.

So how does SNSD’s future activity work? This is not a farewell. The 3 members and SNSD still interact and support each other. SM Entertainment also said, “SNSD is a very important and meaningful group for SM and fans, and the members do not think of disbanding at all.”

But it seems difficult to ensure a comeback from this group. Tiffany and Seohyun, who are the main vocal of the group are unlikely to be active in the music industry after ending their contract with the agency.

Indeed, their individual activities will vary. Taeyeon has been active as a solo singer, Yoona and Yuri have been busy with acting, while Hyoyeon and Sunny have been playing an active role in various entertainment shows.

In this case, SM added, “Since there are members whose contracts have been terminated, we will discuss with the remaining members of SNSD regarding their future plans and we will decide it carefully.”

On the other hand, SNSD has been active as a representative of Korean girl group for 10 years since their debut in 2007 with the album ‘Into the New World’. The album ‘Holiday Night’ released in August marks the 10th anniversary of their debut, and the album became the last album released before ending the contract with SM Entertainment.
