6 Months Before Release, Can “Battleship Island” Surpass “Roaring Currents”?
“Battleship Island” is now becoming a hot topic after the release of its main poster and teaser of the movie. It is said that 10 millions of tickets have been booked. 630 thousands of viewers have watched the teaser in no more than 6 hours.
“Battleship Island” is a movie about Korean laborers during the Japanese colonial era who risked their life to escape from Hashima Island, Japan.
Ryoo Seung Wan, the director of “The Unjust” and “Veteran”, scored 13 millions of viewers through both of the movies. The public has a high expectation toward his upcoming movie because of this. Song Joong Ki, who recently attained a success through “Descendants of the Sun”, will also appear in “Battleship Island” along with actor So Ji Sub.
The return of Song Joong Ki to the movie industry also attracted a lot of attention from the public. Especially, knowing that he was a bit jealous of Yoo Ah In who hit a success through the movie “Veteran”.
Song Joong Ki has confirmed that he will appear in “Battleship Island” ever since he was still filming “Descendants of the Sun”. Right after he finished the filming of the drama, Song Joong Ki went to Chungmu to start the movie production.
Hwang Jung Min will be playing as “Lee Kang Ok” in the movie. So Ji Sub will be playing as “Choi Chil Sung”, the best fighter in Kyungsung. Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki will have the role as “Park Moo Young”, a member of Korean Independence group. Lee Jung Hyung will also appear as “Mal Nyeon”, a Korean girl who got taken away by force to Hashima Island. These actors will show a different acting from their previous works. The movie itself will be released in the summer.
