‘Infinity Challenge’ and ‘Goblin’ OSTs Compete in Korean Music Charts
Singles from reality show ‘Infinity Challenge’ and ‘Goblin’ soundtracks overran Korean Music Charts in January.
According to Genie, the single ‘Your Night’ by Gaeko – Oh Hyuk successfully ranked first place right after it was released during ‘Infinity Challenge – Great Heritage’. ‘Your Night’ is a collab project between hip-hop and history, which makes the reality show even more popular. Meanwhile, soundtracks from drama ‘Goblin’ are still dominating music charts too. In January, there were 6 singles which entered the charts: Ailee – I Will Go To You Like First Snow (#2), Crush – Beautiful (#3), Chanyeol & Punch – Stay With Me (#6), Soyou- I Miss You (#8), Edy Kim – You’re Beautiful (#9) and Jung Joon Il- First Snow (#10).
In music broadcasts, Akdong Musician, Red Planet, and Big Bang show their strenght in charts. With ‘Last Goodbye’, Akdong Musician ranked #4, ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ from indie duo Red Planet ranked #5, and ‘FXXK IT’ from Big Bang ranked #7.
Similar situation was reported by Korean first national music chart, Melon. Ailee’s single ‘I Will Go To You Like First Snow’ has been a winner since its first week of release. Other than ‘Goblin’ soundtracks and ‘Infinity Challenge’ songs, there were Big Bang, Red Planet, Akdong Musician, and Suzy in the top 10.
This February, a fierce competition will occur as comeback songs from Red Velvet, Zion. T, TWICE, and BTS will enter the music charts. Will ‘Goblin’ soundtracks keep their magic on music charts?
