‘Goblin’ Special: It Takes 5 Hours to Create Lee El’s ‘Samshin Grandma’ Makeup Look
During the second part of ‘Goblin’ Special episode, a few stories regarding the makeup team’s behind the scenes were revealed.
A lot of people were curious about the purple color of the traitor. A staff of ‘Goblin’ makeup team revealed the secret of the tongue color, which was by using food coloring that is usually used to make cookies and cakes.
Actor Kim Byeong Cheol, who played the traitor, said, “I had to shoot with the food coloring several times, which was no fun, but after I heard that the makeup for ‘Samshin’ Grandmother takes 5 hours, I did the shooting with a thankful heart.”
The surprising revelation regarding how much work needed in transforming actress Lee El into Samshin Grandmother was then confirmed by Lee El herself. The makeup team that was in charge of Lee El also commented, “It was really hard for Lee El because she had to stay still for five hours, but she actually did it, so we’re really thankful for that.”
