Why Was Not ‘Introverted Boss’ as Successful as ‘Another Oh Hae Young’?

tvN’s drama ‘Introverted Boss’ has ended. Though this drama has a happy ending, there are still some lingering regrets as it was not as successful as expected.

In the latest episode of ‘Introverted Boss’, Eun Hwan Ki (Yeon Woo Jin) and Chae Ro Woon (Park Hye Soo) had a happy ending. They overcame all of their problems; they were also happy with their relationship.

‘Introverted Boss’ is a love story between an introvert boss, Hwan Ki, and his extrovert new staff, Ro Woon. This drama was expected to be a hit for several reasons: First, its unusual and fresh storyline for a Korean drama. Second, the PD of ‘Introverted Boss’ is the PD who directed ‘Another Oh Hae Young’, tvN’s hit drama of 2016. Lastly, tvN itself is well-known to produce a lot of excellent rom-com dramas.

However, the result of ‘Introverted Boss’ was truly disappointing. Even from the beginning, it was clear that the drama was doomed, mainly because its plot and characters were very ill-developed.

In addition to its stagnant plot and characters, unlike in ‘Another Oh Hae Young’, both main and supporting characters in ‘Introverted Boss’ did not have strong presence, so it was hard for viewers to keep themselves interested in this drama. Some even said that the actors did not look enthusiastic to be in this drama. These were few reasons why ‘Introverted Boss’ got bad results.

Do you agree with these reasons, readers?
