Can Seohyun and Joy Continue the Success of SM Idol Actresses?

After Red Velvet’s Joy is casted as the female lead of ‘The Liar and His Lover’, SNSD’s Seo Hyun has just been chosen as the female lead of ‘Thief, Mr. Thief’. Can Seo Hyun and Joy follow the path of success that has been paved by other SM idol actresses such as Yoona, Yuri, and Sooyoung?
Seo Hyun has recently been confirmed as the female lead of MBC’s upcoming weekend drama ‘Thief, Mr. Thief’. The maknae of SNSD will play the role of Kang So Joo, a policewoman with a high sense of justice.
Meanwhile, Joy’s first acting role instantly lands her the female lead position of tvN’s upcoming Monday – Tuesday drama titled ‘The Liar and His Lover’, which is going to start airing next week. In this drama about first love, Joy will play the role of Yoon So Rim, a girl with a beautiful voice.
Before Seo Hyun and Joy, other SM girls such as Yoona, Yuri, and Sooyoung have proven themselves as talented idol actresses. Yuri’s recent appearance as a prosecutor named Seo Eun Hye in highly popular SBS drama ‘Defendant’ attracted a lot of public’s attention. Yoona received much love for her role in tvN’s ‘The K2′, which she starred along Ji Chang Wook and Song Yoon A. Lastly, last year Sooyoung also appeared in ’38 Task Force’, OCN’s highest rated drama so far.
