BoA Tries to be MC After 18 Years Since Debut
BoA becomes the MC of MNET’s ‘Produce 101 Season 2’. A change after 18 years since debut.
‘Produce 101 Season 2’ is a project which gives a chance to 101 male contestants who want to debut. This is a survival program to become a boy group with the concept that is chosen directly by the public.
Besides becoming the MC, BoA also gets involved in becoming a producer and training the trainees.
BoA shared her worries, “When I was being asked to do this. I have a lot of worries. Jang Geun Suk did well as the MC of the first season. I feel a bit weighed down by it. Why offering this to a person who is not funny like me? I still feel awkward. But I will present this show with all my heart. Please accept my flaws”.
She explained, “Season 1 was able to hit a success. I will work hard so season 2 will be a success as well. In this season, we are doing a different concept by creating a boy group. The development of the idol industry in Korea is really fast. According to that thoughts, I participated in Produce 101. Each of the contestants has their own charms. We are trying to create an idol group which is different from the other”.
In this 18 years, BoA keeps challenging herself, starting off as a singer then debuted as an actress, and now she is trying to be an MC. Her talents are not only limited to singing, but also to other aspects. Now, she is training her junior to be a big idol. Not only being able to see the 98 contestants, the audience of ‘Produce 101 Season 2’ can also see BoA as the MC.
