BTS is Confirmed to Attend Billboard Music Award!
Boy group BTS had the opportunity to be invited as the first k-pop group in the Billboard Music Awards.
On May 9th, BTS’ agency, Big Hit Entertainment, announced that BTS is confirmed to be attending the ‘The 2017 Billboard Music Awards’ event on May 21 at 8 pm (local time) at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, USA.
BTS itself is nominated in ‘Top Social Artist’ category, competing with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Shawn Mendes.
The ‘Top Social Artist’ category winner is decided based on the number of album and digital sales, streaming, number of radio broadcasts, number of shows, and social media engagement between March 18, 2016 and March 16, 2017.
BTS, who are currently undergoing a tour, expressed their gratitude to have received the Billboard Music Award invitation.
BTS said, “Being invited in an international music awards is like a dream. All this thanks to the whole ARMY. Thank you very much. It has been a great honor for us to receive the invitation.”
BTS is also reported to be present in the red carpet event.
