Kim Young Kwang’s Solid Characterization as Jang Do Han in ‘Lookout’

Actor Kim Young Kwang grabbed the attention of television drama audience with his strong characterization even from the 1st episode of ‘Lookout’.

In ‘Lookout’, Kim Young Kwang acts as Seoul district attorney named Jang Do Han. Kim Young Kwang earned public praise due to the demonstration of his acting skill, which ranges from being an arrogant prosecutor to a mysterious character.

The debut episode of ‘Lookout’ (22/5) introduced the audience to Jang Do Han and Jo Soo Ji (Lee Se Young)’s intertwined fate. Jang Do Han is in charge of a 12-year-old case of a verdict charged a notoriously innocent homicide suspect. It turned out that the case involved a senior prosecutor, therefore, Jang Do Han was ordered to settle the case without causing trouble. Jang Do Han was angry because he could not do anything.

Then, Jang Do Han stirred the audience’s emotion in a scene in which he told Joo So Ji to stop looking for the truth about her daughter’s death.

However, it was revealed at the end of the episode that Jang Do Han had planned for the suspect to surrender himself to the police. Jang Do Han even went to meet Yoon Seung Ro. A new burning question came out: What does Jang Do Han actually wants?

In this episode, the delivery of Jang Do Han’s arrogant characterization, which he deliberately used to cover his dark past was very well-performed by Kim Young Kwang. It also added to the excitement of this drama. What else does Jang Do Han hide behind his gentlemen attitude and kind expressions?
