‘Battleship Island’ Surpasses 5 Million Viewers Real Quick!

The audience of ‘Battleship Island’ has reached 5 million. On the 8th day of the release in Korea, the movie ‘Battleship Island’ has reached 5 million viewers on August 2 at 09.30. ‘Battleship Island’ is a movie that tells the story of the struggle of the Korean people to escape after being forced to work during the Japanese colonization.

On the first day of the release, it has gained 970,000 viewers. Starting with the latest record, the second day reached 1 million viewers, the third day 2 million, the fourth day 3 million, the fifth day 4 million, and on the eighth day the number of the audience reached 5 million.

To celebrate 5 million viewers, the ‘Battleship Island’ released a photo of Hwang Jung Min, So Ji Sub, Song Joong Ki, Lee Jung Hyun, and Kim Soo Ahn who are carrying placards with the words ‘Thank you 5 million viewers’.

By gaining 5 million viewers on the 8th day of the release of the movie, ‘Battleship Island’ is said to be the fastest box office in sales, beating ‘Spiderman: Homecoming’ which has 5 million viewers on day 11, which means ‘Battleship Island’ is 3 days faster. It is also the fastest record of the film released in 2017. The previous work of director Ryu Seung Wan ‘Veteran’ on the 10th day of the release got 5 million, while ‘Assassination’ got 5 million on day 9.
