‘Defendant’: Death of Ji Sung’s Family, The Beginning of Bad Fate Against Uhm Ki Joon
In the newest episode of ‘Defendant’, which was aired on January 23rd, Park Jung Woo (Ji Sung) lost everything to reveal the crime done by Cha Min Ho (Uhm Ki Joon).
In this episode, Park Jung Woo was a prosecutor who risked himself by coming to the crime scene without an investigator by his side in order to catch the culprit. Despite being offered bigger salary to work in a law firm, Park Jung Woo refused the offer and chose to be a prosecutor.
During his daughter’s birthday, Park Jung Woo looked happy being together with his family. However, two days after that, he woke up in a prison cell. Park Jung Woo’s happy expression turned out to be a dream. He was thrown into prison because he was accused of killing his own wife and daughter.
Jung Woo felt confused because he could not remember any single thing from his life before he was thrown into prison. He could not adapt with life in prison, as well as the fact that he had lost all of his memories.
Four months before he was trown in prison, Park Jung Woo was investigating a murder by Vice President Cha Min Ho. Cha Min Ho was charged of killing a woman that he previously met in a night club. Jung Woo found the murder weapon in a villa and prosecuted Cha Min Ho. On the other hand, there was Cha Sun Ho, who has the exact same appearance as Cha Min Ho, but possesses different personality. Cha Sun Ho is the President of the company. Cha Min Ho was revealed to hit Sun Ho’s head with a weapon. Min Ho tried to make the assault seemed like his (Min Ho’s) suicide attempt.
Park Jung Woo correctly guessed that Cha Min Ho was not someone who would attempt a suicide and hurriedly went to the hospital. In that hospital, Jung Woo met Cha Min Ho, who was pretending to be Cha Sun Ho. Without warning, the original Cha Sun Woo suddenly got up and looked as if he wanted to say something. Cha Min Ho called him “Min Ho” to cover his disguise. However, Park Jung Woo fell into his trap and also called Sun Ho as Min Ho. Only much later Park Jung Woo realized that Cha Min Ho was the one who had killed his own brother and pretended to be Cha Sun Ho.
