The Departure of Goblin, Mermaid, and Doctor from TV Screen: “Who Will Replace Them?”
“Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim”, “Goblin”, and “The Legend of the Blue Sea” departed from the screen almost all at once. “Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim” was ended on 16th of January, followed by “Goblin” on 21st of January, and “The Legend of the Blue Sea” on 25th of January.
“Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim”, which starred Han Suk Kyu, Yoo Yeon Seok, and Seo Hyun Jin, was able to grab the public’s attention by gaining a 30% rating. It also became one of the successful medical dramas after “Doctors”.
tvN’s most popular drama, “Goblin”, set a new record by gaining a total rating of 20,5% per episode and scored 22,1% in one of the episodes.
“The Legend of the Blue Sea”, which had a mermaid as the main character, also attained a success through Jun Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho’s brilliant acting.
After those three successful dramas departed from the TV screen, it is now time for the new dramas to steal the spotlight.
“Defendant” that replaced “Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim” got a positive response after airing its first episode on 23rd of January. Even though the theme of the drama itself is a bit heavy, the rating of this drama is quite good.
“Tomorrow With You” will replace “Goblin” on the third of February. Lee Je Hoon and Shin Min Ah will be playing in this drama.
“The Legend of the Blue Sea” will be replaced by “Saimdang” that will start airing on 26th of January. Lee Young Ae and Song Seung Heon will be playing in this historical drama.
