Seohyun Lands First Lead Female Role in ‘Thief, Mr Thief’
Member of idol group SNSD, Seo Hyun, has been confirmed as the lead female for MBC’s upcoming weekend drama, ‘Thief, Mr. Thief’, which will start airing on May.
Seo Hyun has started her acting career by appearing in SBS drama ‘Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo’, web drama ‘Ruby Ruby Love’, and making a cameo in ‘Weighlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo’. Finally, this time Seohyun is offered the female lead role.
Weekend dramas are MBC’s specialty, thus public have high expectation for this drama. The ‘Thief, Mr. Thief’ production team also has high expectation toward Seo Hyun. Though giving the female lead role of a drama that is going to have about 50 episodes to Seohyun, who still does not have many experiences, is quite burdensome, her constantly developing acting quality is one positive point that viewers could count on. Seo Hyun’s involvement is also expected to increase younger audience’s interest so the impression that weekend dramas are ‘old and conservatives’ could be diminished.
The drama ‘Thief, Mr. Thief’ is going to be about a thief’s attack toward people who want to conquer Korea. In this drama, Seo Hyun will play the role of a policewoman named Kang So Joo.
