JTBC’s ‘Strong Woman Do Bong Soon’ and MBC’s ‘Radiant Office’ have one big similarity: Both dramas have a powerful and strong woman as its main character.
The existence of strong women, Do Bong Soon in ‘Strong Woman Do Bong Soon’ and Eun Ho Won in ‘Radiant Office’, is something that is warmly welcomed by K-Drama lovers.
In ‘Strong Woman Do Bong Soon’, despite her small figure and innocent face, Do Bong Soon possess an extraordinary power which makes her appointed as the bodyguard of a game company’s CEO. Meanwhile, in ‘Radiant Office’, Eun Ho Won is shown as someone who works her ass off to survive. She does not give up even after undergoing 101 job interviews. The drama focuses on Ho Won’s life as a contract employee.
The two dramas resist the typical ‘Daddy Long Legs’ plot in K-Dramas, where ‘Men protecting women’ is the usual notion. ‘Strong Woman Do Bong Soon’ and ‘Radiant Office’ focus in delivering social messages by amplifying the voices of women.
