Yeo Jin Goo to Play as National Hero Park Jong Chul in ‘1987’
Actor Yeo Jin Goo has been confirmed to play in ‘1987’.
‘1987’ is a film set in 1987 South Korea, telling the story of people who wanted to reveal the truth behind the incident that had killed a South Korean national hero, Park Jong Chul.
Yeo Jin Goo will portray the main character Park Jong Chul, the chief of Language Student Organization of Seoul University. Park Jong Chul was caught and persecuted by unknown people, which led to his death. The incident provoked a demonstration in Korea because even after 6 months after Park Jong Chul died, the cause and the suspect were still unknown.
In ‘1987’, Yeo Jin Goo will work together with director Jang Joon Hwan. According to his agency, the actor feel thankful to be offered the role. “Yeo Jin Goo has decided to join the team with a grateful feeling.” Jin Goo also said, “I feel very honored to play this character.”
