Thanks to ‘Goblin’, the Hallyu Fever is Back in Japan

Since March 17, tvN’s hit drama ‘Goblin’ has been airing in Japanese TV through CJ E&M Mnet Japan channel every Friday and Saturday. So far, there have been 4 episodes aired in total.

The Japanese audience are giving warm responses toward this drama. In social medias, they wrote comments such as, “Goblin is so good!”, “The grim reaper is hilarious,”, “Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook are so cool”, “Even Yook Sung Jae is the best”, “All of the people in my family is watching this drama.”

‘Goblin’, the result of writer Kim Eun Sook and PD Lee Eung Bok’s collaboration, is a romance drama about a goblin who needs to find his bride so he could end his eternal life. Other than Goblin and his bride, there are other characters such as a Grim Reaper who lost his memories, as well as Grim Reaper’s long-lost lover.

In Korea, the drama has been creating a fever since December last year. Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun received a lot of love for their portrayal as Goblin and Eun Tak, his bride. Lee Dong Wook also impressed a lot of people through his role as the Grim Reaper. Same thing could be said for Yook Sung Jae (Deok Hwa) and Yoo In Na (Sunny).

The popularity of this drama created a ‘Goblin’ fever that spread through Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Taiwan, as well as other continents, such as America and Europe. Right now, ‘Goblin’ is awakening the Hallyu fever in Japan.
