Gaon Chart Top Position: From Goblin to BTS
Gaon Chart has counted music chart results until mid-2017. Gaon Chart counts albums or songs that have ratings in 2017 based on Gaon Album Chart Top 10 and Gaon Digital Song Chart Top 10 from January 1st to June 17th.
A male group is ranked top for the album position while in the song position, the soundtrack of tvN drama, ‘Goblin’, tops the rank.
BTS album ‘YOU NEVER WALK ALONE’, which was released on February 13, 2017, occupies the first position with total album sales of 729,995 albums and is mentioned as the one with the most album sales in early 2017.
And in mid-2017, GOT7 album sales titled ‘FLIGHT LOG: ARRIVAL’ came in second place with total sales of 331,302 albums.
SEVENTEEN who has debuted for 3 years, occupying the third position of Gaon Chart with the sale of their fourth mini album titled ‘Al1’ which was sold 297,672 copies.
The fourth and fifth positions are occupied by ‘TWICE’. ‘TWICEcoaster: LANE 2’ released in February was sold 279,363 copies and the newly released ‘SIGNAL’ in May was sold 263,523 copies. TWICE is also the only female group in the Top 10 Gaon Chart.
In the first half of the year, the ‘Goblin’ soundtrack sung by Ailee ‘I Will Go To You Like The First Snow’ (OST Goblin part 9) occupied the first position.
In addition, the song ‘Beautiful’ (OST Goblin part 4) sung by Crush occupies the fifth position, the song ‘Stay With Me’ (OST Goblin part 1) sung by Punch occupies the sixth position and the song ‘I Miss You’ (OST Goblin part 7) sung by Soyu is ranked ninth.
While in the second position in the middle of the beginning of the year is occupied by AKMU ‘Last Goodbye’, the third position by TWICE ‘Knock Knock’ and in the fourth position filled by Bolbbalgan4 with ‘Tell Me You Love Me.
