Song Joong Ki Feels Sorry That the Spotlight is Focused on His Wedding to Song Hye Kyo Instead of ‘Battleship Island’
On July 24th, a ‘Battleship Island’ movie interview was held in Samcheong-dong. Song Joong Ki, who’s going to get married to his bride-to-be Song Hye Kyo this October, looked excited.
Song Joong Ki looked shy when calling Song Hye Kyo as his ‘fiance’. “It’s strange to call her ‘my fiance’.” However, the bright smile on his face could not be hidden.
As the actor was born in 1985, some people think he’s too young to get married. In addition, the marriage announcement was so sudden, considering the couple had denied their dating rumors several times. Others said that it’s strange that the announcement was made near the release of Song Joong Ki’s upcoming film, ‘Battleship Island’. Though so, most people are amazed by Joong Ki’s brazenness to make this tough decision at such a young age.
In the interview, Song Joong Ki also revealed that he had some concerns regarding the announcement of his wedding date to Song Hye Kyo. “To be honest, I initially thought it’d better if we announce it after the movie is already released.” However, Song Joong Ki felt uncomfortable having to lie and deny their dating rumor, which kept spreading among the public.
“After I thought about it, I talked to Hye Kyo. I feel sorry that our announcement makes the spotlight directed toward our wedding right before the movie is officially released.” Joong Ki explained that marriage is a very important thing, and many adults in his and Song Hye Kyo’s lives were upset due as there are so many unreasonable rumors surrounding them, thus, they decided to make a public announcement. “I apologize that the reporters had to spread this news even before they usually start to work. I think I’m very excited,”
Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are going to get married on October 31st. Asked if the date has a certain meaning to their relationship, Song Joong Ki answered. “The wedding date has no meaning at all. At the moment, we have not decided the venue.”
