‘School 2017’ and ‘The King Loves’ Had a Weak Start, Will ‘Falsify’ Surpass Both of Them?

SBS’ new Monday-Tuesday drama, ‘Falsify’ was finally aired yesterday. On July 24th, ‘Falsify’ aired its first episode, in which ‘Giregi’ (nickname for degraded journalists) Han Moo Young (Nam Goong Min), news journalist Lee Suk Min (Yoo Joon Sang) news, and a prosecutor who never loses one case Kwon So Ra (Um Ji Won) will reveal a falsified truth.

Prior to ‘Falsify’, SBS has aired several dramas focusing on social issues, for example, lives of detectives and politicians in a drama entitled ‘The Chaser’ (2012), the investigation world in ‘Punch’ (2014), and the life of journalists in ‘Pinnochio’. Recently, SBS also aired ‘Defendant’ and Whisper’, two dramas raising people’s awareness on social issues.

In recent years, there has been a strong interest in public opinion and justice towards society, thus it would be very interesting to see ‘Falsify’ comes providing these two elements in the drama.

‘School 2017’ and ‘The King Loves’ started first last week, but they are off to a weak start. Hopefully, the competition between these three dramas is not going to be so bad as ‘School 2017’, ‘The King Loves’, and ‘Falsify’ have different characteristics. How will ‘Falsify’ fare, though? We’ll find out sooner than later.
