Fin.K.L made their debut in 1998 under the agency DSP Entertainment. Their group name is short for Fine Killing Liberty which originally meant that the group opposed “the suppression of all freedoms”. The name of the group was first picked through a poll among young people in the music company before the group was formed, this is the reason why the English meaning of Fin.K.L is less clear because it was chosen from Korean. The group consists of four members, Lee Hyo Ri, Ock Joo Hyun, Lee Jin, and Sung Yu Ri. The group has not yet officially disbanded, but the four members have already run their respective careers. Lee Hyo Ri and Ock Joo Hyun started their career with the release of solo albums while Lee Jin and Sung Yu Ri played a role in dramas and other shows. All members of this group left the agency in 2006 and all signed a contract with a different company.
