‘Defendant’: The Shocking Confession from Kim Min Suk
Kim Min Suk did a shocking confession of murder in ‘Defendant’.
The story of SBS Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Defendant’ revolves around detective Park Jung Woo (Ji Sung) who lost his memory and tried to seek the truth regarding the false accusation which put him as the murderer of his own wife and daughter.
In the 6th episode, Park Jung Woo, who was sure that he could get out of the death penalty charge, remembered the memory card from his camcorder. In the memory card, there was a proof in the form of a shoe-wearing leg, which could prove that Jung Woo was not the murdered. Unfortunately, after the murder happened, Kang Joon Hyuk (Oh Chang Suk), who had the video, reversed the truth about the reality.
Kang Joon Hyuk’s statement got Jung Woo back into his first charge, which was the death penalty. The people were split in two: Those who believed in Jung Woo, and those who did not believe in Jung Woo. Including Joon Hyuk, the number of people who did not believe in Jung Woo was much bigger.
Meanwhile, other convicts in the prison gave Jung Woo strength by showing him supports. One of the convicts was Sung Gyoo (Kim Min Suk). Though he had helped Jung Woo, Jung Woo was still determined to commmit suicide. This made viewers surprised. Nearing the end of the episode, Sung Gyoo said something shocking to Jung Woo, “I was the one who did it.”
Sung Gyoo’s face, though seemed innocent, showed a cold and mysterious appearance. Jung Woo asked him, “Who are you?!”, the same question that viewers are asking. One by one, more and more puzzles will be turned, and it will reveal many things, such as what kind of person that Cha Min Ho (Uhm Ki Joon) mentioned as someone who was hidden in prison (was it Sung Gyoo?) and others, which of course made viewers very curious.
Though so, to find out the real relationship between Sung Gyoo and the murder, viewers had to wait for one week to watch the next episode!
