‘Gong Yoo Special’: TRAIN TO BUSAN
‘Train to Busan’ is South Korean action, suspense-thriller movie directed by Yeon Sang Ho and starring Gong Yoo, Jung Yu Mi, Ma Dong Seok, Kim Soo Ahn, and Ahn So Hee. This 118 minutes-long movie was first released in Cannes Film Festival 2016 then had its official Korean release on July 20, 2016.
The movie tells the story of some people who are escaping a zombie outbreak by riding a train to Busan, delivering not only a thrilling and suspenseful take, but also family-love and humanism.
Gong Yoo portrays the role of Seok Woo, a company manager who has to bring Soo Ahn, his daughter, to visit his ex-wife in Busan. At first, Seok Woo’s character is shown as an arrogant man who only cares about work, but then, he transformed into a real dad who protects Soo Ahn from the zombies with all his life.
Thanks to ‘Train to Busan’, Gong Yoo was appointed as ‘The 10 Million Actor’ and scored a huge success. He was highly praised not only because of the movie’s achievement to hit more than 10 million viewers, but also because of his perfect performance as Seok Woo.
