Lee Sung Kyung Talks about Dating Rumors and The Price of Fame
Actress Lee Sung Kyung recently talked to US fashion magazine ‘W’ about the downside of her rising popularity.
At the moment, Sung Kyung has around 5.6 million people following her on Instagram. The number is equivalent to 1/10 of Korean population watching her every moves and anything she does in daily life.
The model and actress started to grab public’s attention after starring in ‘Cheese in the Trap’ and ‘Doctors’, but it was due to the drama ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo’, in which Sung Kyung demonstrated her solid acting development, that her popularity skyrocketed.
Inevitably, her rising fame already landed her in several dating rumors, including with ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo’ co-star Nam Joo Hyuk and Block B’s rapper Zico, though Sung Kyung denied them all.
“These days, I prefer to stay indoors most of the time. I can’t go out during the day without wearing a baseball hat. Even simply walking and hanging out with friends could escalate into scandals and dating rumors, so I always have to be careful.”
Answering the question of whether she has a boyfriend or not, Lee Sung Kyung said, “Dating is just impossible with the tabloids around. There have been so many rumors associating me with certain male models and such, so it feels like I’ve dated around a hundred people already.”
