BTS, TWICE, and K.A.R.D’s International Activities
Compared to the past, KPOP is getting more popular in the world right now.
Boy band BTS received the invitation to attend the 2017 Billboard Music Award. BTS is nominated in ‘Top Social Artis’ category along with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and other world star artists. Previously, BTS’ songs has entered the ‘Billboard 200’ chart for 4 consecutive times. BTS also has a huge popularity in Japan. Their 7th Japanese single, ‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’, was officially released on May 10. In the first day of its release, the single already sold out to 1.400.000 copies.
TWICE’s new song, ‘Signal’, was released on May 15. This girl group is already very well known in Japan even though they have not made official debut. TWICE will debut in Japan in June 28, 2017. According to a survey, as much as 80% of them know of this girl group.
New comer co-ed group K.A.R.D begun their debut activities by promoting abroad first rather than promoting in Korea first. Many K-POP stars are doing international activities to get K-POP more well-known all around the world.
