Song Joong Ki Smoothly Answers Questions Related to Song Hye Kyo in ‘The Battleship Island’ Press Conference
During the press conference of ‘The Battleship Island’, Song Joong Ki did not mind to answer questions about Song Hye Kyo, albeit he was being very careful to talk about something that is related to his future wife.
On July 19th, ‘The Battleship Island’ held a press conference on CGV Yongsan. Song Joong Ki, one of the movie’s main casts, was asked about his opinion regarding Song Hye Kyo’s refusal to star in Mitsubishi commercial. The actor answered, “Truthfully, I knew about it (the refusal) from an article. When I read it, I cheered up in silence. Even if the offer came to me, I think I would have done the same thing.”
“I think what she did make sense. As she’s someone whom I love, I hold her in a higher ground.” The people in the room cheered hearing Song Joong Ki mentioned his future wife as ‘someone whom I love’.
Meanwhile, ‘The Battleship Island’ is a film depicting the story of Koreans trying to escape from a warship during the Japanese colonial period. The film is the latest work of director Ryoo Seung Hwan, whose previous film, ‘Veterans’, earned more than 10 million viewers. In this film, Song Joong Ki plays as Park Moo Young, an OSS agent assistant who’s helping the people to escape from the ship. Park Moo Young is a soldier, just like his previous character, Yoo Si Jin in KBS 2TV drama ‘Decendants of the Sun’, which was aired last year.
